Samedi 19 juin 2021. Gravdal-Svolvær.
Gris et froid. Nous remontons sur la colline pour trouver la station
sismique. Avec les coordonnées et une photo que j’avais faite en 2002, nous la
trouvons, mais il faut une pelle. Jens téléphone au gars responsable de la
station de pompage qui apporte une pelle et la clé du cadenas qui ferme la
caisse. Jens creuse et retire le matelas de terre qui couvre la caisse. Mais,
problème : le cadenas ne peut pas s’ouvrir. Nous redescendons tous les
deux et je reste au bateau pour faire le blog. Jens remonte (et à chaque fois c’est
presque 3 km) avec une scie pour scier le cadenas. Il ouvre la caisse et la
trouve en bon état, juste un peu humide. En 2002, il y avait beaucoup d’eau, il
avait fallu pomper l’eau pour la sécher. Aujourd’hui, c’est assez avec un peu
de papier absorbant. Il referme tout et redescend puis nous partons. Nous avons
le vent dans le nez pour sortir de la baie de Gravdal, force 3-4, puis nous
avons la houle de 1m-1m50 de ¾ arrière.
Peu de vent pour stabiliser et Maja roule bien. Nous déjeunons en route en nous
cramponnant, et nous continuons comme cela plusieurs heures, mais les vagues
baissent un peu et le soleil sort, tout va bien. Nous allons à Svolvær, la
capitale de Lofoten, où nous allons rencontrer Laila et Thorsen (notre fille et
son compagnon) qui naviguent aussi par ici avec leur « Syvsover ».
Nous y arrivons à 18 h et nous mettons juste en face d’eux. Ankerdram ensemble,
nous sommes bien contents de nous retrouver. Nous allons diner en ville, mais
le seul restaurant où il y a de la place est le restaurant chinois sur le quai.
Mais, bien que chinois, ils ont aussi la spécialité de Lofoten : des
langues de morues! Très bonne soirée ensemble, le soleil brille et le port de
Svolvær est spectaculaire, entouré de hautes montagnes.

Gray and cold. We ride up the hill to find the seismic
station. With the coordinates and a photo I took in 2002, we find it, but we
need a shovel. Jens phones the guy in charge of the pumping station, who brings
a shovel and the key to the lock that closes the box. Jens digs in and removes
the mattress of earth covering the box. But, problem: the padlock cannot be
opened. We both go down and I stay at the boat to do the blog. Jens goes back
(and each time it's almost 3 km) with a saw to saw through the padlock. He
opens the crate and finds it in good condition, just a little damp. In 2002,
there was a lot of water, we had to pump water to dry it. Today, that's enough
with paper towel. He puts a little of sicaflex, closes everything and goes back
to Maja then we leave. We have the wind in our nose to get out of Gravdal bay,
force 3-4, then we have the swell of 1m-1.50m ¾ behind, little wind to
stabilize and Maja is rolling well. We have lunch on the way, one hand for the
food and one hand to hold on, and we continue like this for several hours, but
the waves drop a little and the sun comes out, everything is fine. We go to
Svolvær, the capital of Lofoten, where we will meet Laila and Thorsen (our
daughter and her companion) who are also sailing here with their
"Syvsover". We get there at 6 p.m. and we're right in front of them
at the pontoon. Ankerdram together, we are very happy to meet again. We are
going to have dinner in town, but the only restaurant where there is room is
the Chinese restaurant on the wharf. But, although Chinese, they also have
Lofoten's specialty: cod tongues! Very good evening together, the sun is
shining and the port of Svolvær is spectacular, surrounded by high mountains.
