Vendredi 16 juillet 2021. Ørnes-Svartisen.
C’est plus calme ce matin mais cela recommence vers 10 h. Jens fait une lessive au club house. Nous invitons le norvégien et sa femme thaïlandaise à venir voir Maja, ils ne veulent ni café ni thé parce qu’ils viennent de prendre leur petit-déjeuner. Il a vendu son bateau et le livre à Bodø à la nouvelle propriétaire. Je parle un peu avec sa femme, elle trouve que c’est dur avec le climat et en bateau elle a le mal de mer, la pauvre. Ils sont mariés depuis le mois de juin et elle va commencer à apprendre le norvégien en août. Puis nous allons en vélo dans une vallée derrière Ørnes. C’est drôle que dès qu’on tourne le dos à la mer, c’est la haute montagne. Nous échangeons quelques mots avec un homme qui a des poules heureuses qui sont libres dans un grand jardin. Nous rentrons mais la sécheuse n’a pas fini son travail donc, en attendant, nous allons déjeuner dans un restaurant thaïlandais sur le quai, bon, copieux et pas cher. A 15 h, le vent s’est calmé et nous partons. Un grand voilier qui vient d’arriver attend avec impatience qu’on s’en aille, il va prendre notre place. Jens a pris de l’eau et nous allons pour prendre du diésel mais la pompe ne fonctionne pas. Pas de problème sur les fjords, le vent est F 3-4 et les vagues des vaguelettes mais la visibilité est bien bouchée, dommage pour les photos. Nous suivons des fjords et allons vers l’intérieur pour aller voir un glacier, Svartisen, cela veut dire « la glace noire ». Ce glacier descend assez près de la mer, nous irons le voir demain. Un ponton au fond du fjord a de la place pour 8 bateaux et nous voyons tout de suite qu’il y a de la place. C’est calme mais il pleut, c’est vraiment dommage, on devine à peine le glacier. Diner et petite promenade sous la pluie. La location de vélos ne fait pas d’affaire aujourd’hui.

Friday July 16, 2021. Ørnes-Svartisen
It's quieter this morning but it starts again around
10 a.m. Jens does laundry at the club house. We invite the Norwegian guy and
his Thai wife to come and see Maja, they don't want coffee or tea because they
just had breakfast. He sold his boat and delivers it to Bodø to the new owner.
I talk to his wife a bit, she thinks it's harsh with the weather and in the
boat she gets seasick, poor lady. They have been married since June and she
will start learning Norwegian in August. Then we go by bike in a valley behind
Ørnes. It's funny that as soon as you turn your back to the sea, it's high
mountains. We exchange a few words with a man who has happy chickens who are
free in a large garden. We go home but the dryer hasn't finished its job so, in
the meantime, we'll have lunch at a Thai restaurant on the dock, good,
plentiful and inexpensive. At 3:00 p.m. the wind calmed down and we set off. A
yacht that has just arrived is impatiently waiting for us to leave, she will
take our place. Jens took some water and we're going to get some diesel but the
pump doesn't work. No problem on the fjords, the wind is F 3-4 and the waves
are small but the visibility is very blocked, too bad for the photos. We follow
fjords and go inland to see a glacier, Svartisen, that means "black
ice". This glacier goes down quite close to the sea, we'll go see it
tomorrow. A pontoon at the bottom of the fjord has room for 8 boats and we
immediately see that there is room. It's calm but it's raining, it's a shame,
we can hardly guess the glacier. Dinner and a short walk in the rain. The people renting
bikes are not doing big business today.
